Deva Movie Box Office Collection Falls Short

Shahid Kapoor's latest film, Deva, has opened to a slow start at the box office, collecting approximately Rs 5 crore on its opening day, despite featuring an ensemble cast and the actor's impressive performance as a rogue cop.

The film, which has a promising start but falters in the second half with convoluted twists and incomplete story arcs, relies heavily on Shahid Kapoor's portrayal of Deva, a ruthless cop who breaks rules with disregard for police brutality. However, even his impressive performance can't salvage the film's underwhelming storytelling. The title of the film, spelling Deva instead of Dev, is an intriguing plot point that the movie fails to fully explore.

Deva's box office collection was also impacted by tough competition from other releases like Akshay Kumar's "Sky Force" and Ram Charan's "Game Changer." As a result, "Deva" landed in the 11th spot among Shahid's top 10 openers, failing to surpass his previous film "Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya," which opened with Rs. 6.7 crore. The film's ensemble cast, including Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, and Kubbra Sait, was not enough to draw in larger audiences.

The slow start of Deva at the box office is a disappointing outcome for the film, which had generated significant buzz prior to its release. Despite this, fans of Shahid Kapoor may still appreciate his performance as the titular hero, and the film's unique storyline and style may appeal to some viewers.
