England's dreams of a comeback in the ongoing Test series against Pakistan faced a setback on Thursday, as the hosts tightened their grip on the match with a dominating performance on the second day. Sajid Khan's impressive 4-wicket haul, including the wicket of England batter Ben Duckett, left England struggling at 239-6, with the visitors still trailing by 127 runs.

Ben Duckett, who had started the day with a brave 114, became one of Sajid Khan's victims, bowled off a sharp turning delivery that sparked a collapse that saw four wickets fall in just 14 runs. Khan's 4-86 was the pick of the bowlers, while Noman Ali took 2-75 to restrict England's run-scoring. Joe Root was also dismissed, bowled off an inside edge while sweeping, and Harry Brook fell to a well-settled leg-spinner. Ghulam's achievement, he became the 13th Pakistani to score a century on his debut, and only the sixth in the world is likely to boost the team's confidence going into the second innings.
