Technical Glitch Haults Indian National Anthem, Players Continue Singing

Updated :

A technical glitch interrupted the playing of the Indian national anthem before the start of the first T20I match between India and South Africa at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban on Friday. Despite the setback, the players showed solidarity and continued singing the anthem on their own, albeit briefly.

The anthem began normally before suddenly stopping midway. However, the Indian cricket team, known for their displays of patriotism and national pride, refused to be deterred. They swiftly resumed singing the anthem, ensuring that it was completed. The incident left the crowd, many of whom were also visibly upset by the interruption, in an awkward silence. Nevertheless, once the anthem resumed, the crowd erupted into applause, demonstrating their love and respect for the national anthem, and by extension, their appreciation for the Indian cricket team's virtue of resilience and dedication.

India's overall performance in the match was undoubtedly impressive, with the team emerging victorious by 61 runs. The team's talent was on full display, with Sanju Samson scoring a century, and bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi showcasing their skills, each taking three wickets. Looking ahead, India is keen to continue their winning momentum, having won 10 of their last 11 matches since their triumph in the T20 World Cup in June. Their record at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground also bodes well, with an impressive four wins in five outings.

The incident serves as a reminder that while technology can sometimes falter, the spirit and determination of the Indian cricket team and their fans remain strong and unwavering. As they look to take on the remaining matches in the series, India's cricket team is sure to hold their heads high, their national pride firmly in place.
