Pushpa 2 Surpasses Baahubali 2, Nears Record-Breaking ₹1800 Crore Milestone

Updated :

Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has achieved a historic milestone, surpassing SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2's all-time record at the global box office, with earnings totaling over ₹1189.85 crore in 29 days. The film, directed by Sukumar, is pacing steadily towards the coveted ₹1800 crore mark.

The fourth-week earnings of ₹69.75 crore in India have significantly contributed to the total. Notably, the Hindi version of the film has been a major contributor to the revenue, demonstrating the widespread appeal of Allu Arjun's performance in the region. The Hindi belt has been instrumental in driving the film's earnings, which further underscores the film's broader appeal.

Congratulations to the team behind Pushpa 2: The Rule from Aamir Khan's production house, AKP, reflect the significance of the milestone. The production house showcased the film's box office success as a testament to the potential of Indian cinema. Allu Arjun and Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind the film, reciprocated with their gratitude and sentiments.

Recently, the film neared the all-time record of Aamir Khan's production, Dangal, with ₹1760 crore earnings in just 25 days. The rapid growth in earnings is undeniable, and with the New Year's Day push of a ₹6-crore increase, the numbers keep adding up. The spectacular success resonates with India and globally, pushing towards a projected gross collection of ₹2000 crore.

The domestic box office also witnessed remarkable success with ₹1184 crore nett, where the Hindi and Telugu versions made significant contributions separately – ₹167.65 crore and ₹330.53 crore, respectively. Since its release on December 5, the film continues to charm the audience with its rich storyline deepening its stance in theatres. The starcast that includes Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil maintains its allure fostering an economically viable appeal both locally and globally.

At this pace, Pushpa 2: The Rule seems set to not only surpass ₹1800 crore but potentially commission its place in history as a mountaineer Indian film globally. Meanwhile, for Allu Arjun, this significant achievement is not the first milestone he has summited, his present contextual incongruity anguish total thrust pending.
