China to Unveil Flagship Stealth Fighter Jet at Zhuhai Airshow
China is set to showcase its latest multi-role stealth fighter jet, the J-35A, at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai City, as the country's air force aims to match the US' aerial power. The J-35A, developed by the Shenyang Aircraft Design and Research Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and manufactured by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC), is considered a game-changer in the aviation industry.
The J-35A features an integrated design that combines aerodynamics, structure, and stealth technology, making it a highly capable stealth fighter. Military experts have hailed it as the "best stealth fighter" in the world, citing its advanced stealth capabilities, including radar stealth, infrared stealth, optical stealth, and acoustic stealth. The aircraft's folding wings are designed for aircraft carrier landings, allowing for improved adaptability in harsh conditions. The J-35A is expected to be a significant improvement over China's existing J-20 stealth fighter, which has been inducted into operation in large numbers since July 2023.
The J-35A is part of China's efforts to bolster its air force capabilities, particularly in the face of US competition. China has denied allegations that it stole stealth fighter technology from the US and has produced its own unique designs, such as the catapult-capable J-15T fighter, which is expected to be showcased at the Zhuhai Airshow along with the J-35A. The J-15T features modified wingtip pylons for PL-10 air-to-air missiles and a reinforced nose landing gear, making it a more advanced variant of the J-15 "Flying Shark.".
The Zhuhai Airshow, taking place from November 12-17, is set to feature a variety of aircraft, including the J-35A and J-15T, as China continues to assert its position as a major player in the global aerospace industry. The showcase of these cutting-edge stealth fighters will likely be closely watched by military analysts and aviation enthusiasts alike, providing insight into China's efforts to modernize its military capabilities.
