England's Luke Wood Headlines English Players in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Draft
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has announced that England left-arm fast bowler Luke Wood will participate in the 10th edition of the league, marking the fifth English player to do so. Wood, 29, hasplayed in various franchise leagues, including the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League, Bangladesh Premier League, and International League. He joins fellow English players Tom Curran, David Willey, and previously announced cricketers Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Colin Munro.
Joining Wood in the draft are three other international players, including South African Rilee Rossouw and English duo Kohler-Cadmore and Munro. The cricketers vying for a spot in the PSL-10 player draft are participating in a discerning selection process, with their experience, skill, and performance records crucial in determining their chances. Reuters Sports reported previously that a total of 16 foreign players, including six English cricketers, have registered for the draft.
Wood, who has played for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL before, took 13 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 30.30 during his previous stint in the league. Rossouw, meanwhile, impressed with his batting prowess, scoring 2015 runs at an average of 31.98 and a strike rate of 142.7, including two centuries and 10 half-centuries. Kohler-Cadmore will be represented his fourth PSL edition with an illustrious showing in his previous seasons, representing United and joining his fellow English team.
