The FIA's crackdown on cybercrime is part of a broader effort to prevent the spread of hate speech and misinformation on social media, and to protect the country's citizens and institutions from online threats. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two suspects, Haider Saeed and Asad Nawaz, in Islamabad for running online hate campaigns and leaking sensitive government data on social media, in the wake of a terrorist attack on Jaffar Express that resulted in the death of several people.

The FIA seized the social media accounts and digital evidence of the suspects and vowed to take strict legal action against them. Haider Saeed was found sharing derogatory material against state institutions and promoting banned organizations on social media, while Asad Nawaz allegedly shared personal passports and photos of high-ranking government officials to spread fear and panic.

The arrests come as part of a series of crackdowns on cybercrime in recent days, with the FIA working to prevent the spread of misinformation and propaganda on social media. The agency has warned the public to rely on credible sources of information and to be cautious of malicious social media campaigns, particularly those linked to terrorists and Indian media.

The FIA has registered cases against the suspects under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and has sought remand to interrogate them further. The arrests are seen as a significant step in the government's efforts to combat cybercrime and protect national security and data privacy.
