WhatsApprolling out Animation Controls for End-User Applicative Customization

Updated :

Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp has taken steps to address user concerns over cluttered conversations, rolling out an update allowing users to control chat message animations on the platform.

The update, available to Android users through the Google Play Beta Program, includes the introduction of separate toggles for individual chat animations. Users can now decide whether specific emojis, stickers, and GIFs play automatically or need to be tapped, enhancing the overall messaging experience. This control also extends to animated stickers and emojis, allowing users to disable autoplay if preferred.

WhatsApp aims to provide users with more refined control over their messaging environment, seeking to minimize potential distractions. This move caters to those who find animatronic content overwhelming, thereby offering a more customizable experience. The feature is still in its testing phase but is expected to be integrated into upcoming updates.

This development marks a shift in WhatsApp's focus towards user-centered design and customization, underscoring the importance of end-user experience in maintaining the platform's popularity.
