Russian authorities confirmed Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov and an assistant who were out walking near General Kirillov's home in Moscow were killed in a blast on Tuesday. The explosion has been described as a terrorist act by the Russian Investigative Committee, which opened the case. The deceased general was the head of the country's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces. Kirillov and an assistant were killed by a bomb on an electric scooter. Following a detailed search operation, the FSB announced they have detained a suspect named Akhmad Kurbanov, from Uzbekistan, on suspicion of the murder.
