MemeFi Delays Token Launch, Airdrop for Second Time Due to Unfinished Work

Updated :

MemeFi, the Telegram-based combat game, has pushed back its token launch and airdrop for the second time due to remaining work on the developer and legal side. The token listing on OKX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, is now scheduled for November 22, and the airdrop will also take place on the same day.

The delay has been caused by ongoing work on the developer and legal side, with the final snapshot for player activity now set for November 15. The game's initial launch date was October 9, but it was previously pushed back due to a switch from the Layer-2 scaling network Linea to the Layer-1 network Sui. MemeFi is not the only Telegram gaming project to experience delays this year, as the growing success of Toncrusher has led to increased competition and stray user interest.

The co-founder of MemeFi, Jack Booth, has emphasized the need for tap-to-earn games to innovate and move beyond the standard tapping mechanism in order to keep users engaged. With the push towards more innovative gameplay, MemeFi aims to stand out amidst the surge of gaming projects on Telegram.

In other news, OKX has announced two updates. The company has launched a "BONK Airdrop" campaign, offering a reward pool of 2.1 billion BONK tokens, with participants eligible for reward calculation based on their staking activity. Additionally, OKX will list MemeFi (MEMEFI) on its spot market on November 22, with deposits enabled on November 11. The token is tied to a Telegram mini-app game and Web3 meme universe with over 50 million users.

This news marks another delay for MemeFi, but its market listing on OKX in two weeks will provide a crucial test of the project's ability to sustain user interest in a crowded space. We will be keeping a close eye on the project's progress and market reception as it navigates its second chance following the November 22 launch and airdrop.
